Sex on the Beach Blog Tour

Before You by Jenna Bennett

March 4, 2014
New Adult Contemporary Romance
One of the “Sex on the Beach” Novellas

BOOK SUMMARY:
It’s all fun and games

I had a simple plan for spring break.

Sun, sand, and a hot guy. Sex on the beach, with no strings attached.

A chance to get rid of this pesky virginity once and for all.

And when I met Tyler McKenna, I thought I had it made.

Until someone gets hurt

But then girls started turning up at Key West landmarks. Girls who looked like me, but with one crucial difference: They’d all been drugged and relieved of their virginity.

The virginity I still have. The virginity Ty refuses to take.

And now I’ve begun to wonder whether there isn’t more to him than meets the eye.

Suddenly, sex on the beach doesn’t sound so good anymore...

BEFORE YOU by Jenna Bennett

Excerpt:
Ty stopped outside the hotel door as usual. “Here we are. Safe and sound.”
Yes, indeed. I glanced over my shoulder into the lighted lobby, where people were walking around, and decided against inviting him up to my room. I knew what he’d say, after all.
“Thanks for the tour,” I told him instead.
He smiled. “You’re welcome.”
“If you change your mind about going sightseeing tomorrow, you know where to find me.”
He nodded.
“Although I won’t hold my breath.”
There was a pause. “It isn’t that I don’t wanna spend time with you, you know.”
Could have fooled me, I thought. “Sure,” I said.
He drove his hand into his hair and closed his fist. It looked like it hurt. “I like you, Cassie, OK? I’d like to spend time with you. I just... can’t.”
He actually sounded like he meant it.
So...
“Girlfriend?” I asked.
He looked torn. But eventually he nodded. “Yeah.”
I nodded too, even as disappointment curled into my stomach and settled there. “That’s OK.”
Except it wasn’t, of course. I didn’t want him to have a girlfriend. The knowledge that he had a girlfriend made me sad. And the fact that he liked me, but couldn’t do anything about it because he had a girlfriend, made me mad.
And what kind of girlfriend lets her boyfriend go to Key West on spring break on his own, anyway?
Not a very good one.
Or perhaps one who trusted her boyfriend to do the right thing, even when she wasn’t around.
Anyway, I’m not the kind of girl who tries to steal another girl’s boyfriend. So I simply told him, “Goodnight, Ty,” and turned away.
And he told me “Goodnight, Cassie,” and went off down the street.
And that was that. I went inside and up to bed. Alone.

REVIEW BY: APRIL EPLEY
18+ only readers please. There are traumatic events and hot sex.  It’s all fun and games, until someone gets hurt! So very true. I enjoyed this short story. It has a conclusion so no cliff hangers here. There is room if the author would like to write more. I would be happy to read it.
Cassie Wilder and her two best friends, Mackenzie and Quinn, have gone to Key West for spring break. Much warmer than staying in Chicago, where they all attend college. The goal was for them to all have fun and for some to lose their virginity. Cassie still having all her virtues intact was looking forward to it.
At a little bar she meets Ty. Oh she likes him instantly. When he offers to walk her back to her hotel she is all for it. When they arrive and he turns her down it confuses her. They continually bump into each other, and intentionally start spending a lot of time together. Throw in the fact that girls are being drugged and hurt and it all leaves you guessing.
Is Ty really the guy Cassie wants? Is he the one hurting the girls? Why won’t he accept her advances? What secrets is he hiding? Does it all end up good or bad? You will have to read it to find out.

I am giving this book 4 stars. It is well written and makes a lazy afternoon pass quickly! Thank you and I will be looking forward to more.

BOOK SUMMARY:

I’m just a girl…
I’m a famous country star who’s spent her life cultivating a good girl persona to avoid bad press, but I’ve reached my limit. I’m going away for spring break with my two best friends from college, and we’ve vowed to spend the vacation seeking out fun in the sun—along with some hot, no-strings-attached sex. The only thing I needed was the perfect guy, and then I met Austin Murphy. He might be totally wrong for me, but the tattooed bad boy is hard to resist. When I’m in his arms, everything just feels right.

And I’m just a guy…
I’m just a bartender who lives in Key West, stuck in an endless cycle of boredom. But then Mackenzie Forbes, America’s Sweetheart herself, comes up to me and looks at me with those bright green eyes…and everything changes. She acts like she’s just a normal girl and I’m just a normal guy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. My past isn’t pretty, you know. I did what I had to do to survive, and she’d run if she learned the truth about my darkness. But with her, I’m finally realizing what it’s like to be alive. To laugh, live, and be happy.

All good things must come to an end...

18+ readers only please. This is Hot and Steamy! This story is told from 2 POVs which I loved. It was nice to know what Mackenzie and Austin were thinking.
Mackenzie (America’s Sweetheart) is wanting a normal college girl spring break. She treats her two best friends, Cassie and Quinn, to join her in Key West. The goal being to lose her virginity and have a care free, fun-filled vacation.
The first night there and Mac spots Austin. I really loved this bad boy. He thinks he is not good enough for anything. When the two decide to hook up the ground rules are laid out. Just for fun, no feelings, no commitment, and say goodbye at the end of the week.
Things do not always go as planned. Follow the chaos that happens through this emotion filled story. They each carry secrets. Will they let the other get close? Read it and find out.
I am giving this story 4 strong stars. I really enjoyed it. I am hoping this author may give us a follow up on this story. This is not a cliff hanger and has a wonderful HEA. Thank you.

BOOK SUMMARY:

CAN FUN IN THE SUN TURN INTO LASTING LOVE?
Spring break in Key West with my besties was supposed to be casual fun. But I never expected to meet James Hunt. Sex and frolic? Yes! A relationship? No. But his hot blue eyes and confident manner drew me in. And when he let me see the man behind the mask, I fell hard, foolishly believing there could be a future for us. Of course I never considered our relationship might be based on lies...or that his betrayal could rock my foundation and make me question everything I believed in...

OR WILL A LIFE BUILT ON LIES RUIN EVERYTHING?
The moment I saw Quinn I knew I had to have her. She hooked me with her cool eyes and don’t touch me attitude. I had it all, money, social status, and looks. I could get any girl I wanted...until her. When my friends challenged me with a bet to get her into bed by the end of the week, I couldn’t pass it up. But sex wasn’t supposed to turn into love. She wasn’t supposed to change me, push me, and make me want more for myself. She wasn’t supposed to wreck me in all ways. And now, if I can’t turn my lies into truth, I just might lose her forever...

Quinn meets James, a rich boy who is unsure of where he belongs in the world. Trying to blow off his unreal friends he makes a bet he does not mean to make. He sure as hell does not mean to keep it.
During the week James and Quinn end up with much more than they bargained for. Follow them through the chaos, sex filled week. See where the emotions neither expected land them. Find out what happens at the end of the week when the girls get back on the plane to go home.
