Review: The Valentine's Arrangement by Kelsie Leverich

THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The “emotional, spicy-hot story” (Belle’s Book Bag) that propelled Kelsie Leverich to the New York Times bestseller list!

Tattoo artist Ronnie Clark is counting the days until Valentine’s Day is over. Ronnie doesn’t do romance. She doesn’t do flowers or dates, and she sure as hell doesn’t do love—not anymore. Love leads to heartbreak, and she’s vowed never to let herself get hurt again.

Sergeant First Class Kale Emerson is home on his mid-tour leave from Iraq, but he only has one thing on his mind—returning to his soldiers to finish leading their mission. He’s dedicated to his men and to his country, and he’s not interested in getting wrapped up in a distracting relationship…but casual sex, that’s a different story. From the moment he sees Ronnie, he wants her. And he agrees to her terms—no romance, no fluff—just passion.

But as their sexual chemistry ignites, the lines of their arrangement get blurry, and Ronnie starts to push Kale away. And when Kale realizes he’s found his match in this razor-tongued, gorgeous woman who is hell bent against love, winning her heart could be the toughest battle he has ever fought.

4 feisty, sexy, “Whoa”, swoon worthy stars!!
“I didn’t want the line to get blurry, and I sure as hell didn’t want you to cross it.”
Ronnie Clark is mending a broken heart after finding out her finance has betrayed her in the worst way.  During his deployment to Afghanistan he cheated and everything Ronnie thought she knew about the person she loved comes shattering around her.  She is determined to dust herself off and not put her heart out there again to get broken.  Ronnie doesn’t want love, she doesn’t want the chocolates and flowers and fluffy stuff.
Sergeant First Class Kale Emerson has never had a relationship – he never wanted one.  He has always put his Army Career as his first priority and doesn’t need the distraction of love, chocolates, flowers, and fluff.  While at home from Afghanistan for R&R he stumbles upon Ronnie and knows he wants her in his bed to keep him warm at night while on R&R.
Ronnie has tattoos, a smart mouth and a bad attitude everything that isn’t Kale’s type.  Kale Emerson is clean cut, Abercrombie could be model and everything that isn’t Ronnie’s type, well opposites attract and after a few run-ins they come to an arrangement – just sex!  No flowers, no chocolates, no fluff – just sex!  Could the arrangement be just through Valentine’s Day while SFC Emerson is home on R&R or will the arrangement have them wanting more?
I fell in love with The Valentine’s Arrangement – this story touched me in a way a lot of books I have read, haven’t.  Being an Army Wife I know what it’s like to be separated from the one you love.  To worry everyday all day if they are safe, no hate hearing the door bell ring when they are deployed not knowing who is on the other side of the door.  I love Ronnie – she is feisty and strong willed.  She doesn’t take bullshit from anyone and has a smart mouth.  Kale is polar opposite of Ronnie and I love him for that he has manners, clean cut, sweet as hell and honest and they fit perfectly together.  I could understand why Ronnie was scared to give her heart away again after Brandon, her EX-finance, broke hers to pieces.  Can Ronnie move on from her past and give Kale all of her, has Kale finally found the one woman that he wants to have in his life and give himself to her, or will the arrangement they have that it’s just sex, be just The Valentine’s Arrangement.

Kelsie Leverich wrote a beautiful sexy love story about love and loss and how it takes a strong person to take a chance at new love again.  The storyline flowed perfectly and the emotions in the characters were flawless.  I look forward to reading more of her work.
