Four Weddings and a Fireman by Jennifer Bernard

                                                                     Synopsis:

It takes a certain kind of man to stand out among the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel.
Firefighter Derek "Vader" Brown is one of a kind—six feet of solid muscle with the heart of a born hero. It's that protective streak that has him pursuing a promotion to Captain to pay for his mother's home care. And it's why he intends to figure out why his sometime girlfriend Cherie Harper runs hot as hellfire one minute and pushes him away the next.
Cherie's got it bad. Vader sweeps her off her feet—literally—and their chemistry is combustible. There's just the little problem of a nightmare from her past she was desperate to escape. And then her sister Trixie arrives, causing havoc for Cherie and the male population of San Gabriel. Cherie doesn't want her past to complicate Vader's life or his career. But there's nothing like a firefighter to break through all your defenses, one smoldering kiss at a time . . .

This is a book for 18+ readers only please. Due to sexual content, adult situations, and fireman hotness. This is the first book I have read by this author and although it took me a bit to get into it I was glad I stuck it out.
Meet Derek Brown, also known as Vader. He has the body of a God and the heart of a saint. He was always the one to lighten a tense situation and of course he always comes to the rescue. He never wanted for company from woman and had no problem enjoying his time with them. That is until Cherie. She ruined him for others as she was on his mind constantly.
Cherie Harper is in deep. She loves Vader but cannot take the relationship where it needs to go. She has deep secrets and a blood pact she cannot break. While trying to figure out what to do next things are constantly happening around her that make her have to answer or hurt Vader. Will she let him in on the secrets of her past? You will have to read this story to find out.
Will Vader realize he can open up and tell others about his life, and not only be the life of the party? Join the fun and excitement that surrounds the firehouse.

I am giving this book 4 stars. It took me a bit but it was a good story with a lot of plot twists that I sure did not expect. I am hoping it stays with me and I will check into the other books by this author.  Thank you!
