The Will to Love Blog Tour by Selene Chardou

The Will to Love Blog Tour Banner

The Will to Love Cover

“I wasn’t looking for love, only a good time and a way to tour the world with a rock band when he came along and hit me like a hurricane. Nothing could have prepared for me for the complexity that was Will Cullen. He hid a secret that would devour me whole and spit me out. The only problem I had was how did I let go when I decided to give my heart to the very man I would never be able to control and who would always be just beyond my reach?” – Laurel Munsen

Will Cullen has always been comfortable in his own skin, even it was behind the scenes as the bass player for Scarlet Fever. He’s always known he was gay and accepted his sexuality even if he couldn’t be out and proud as a member of one of the most popular rock bands in the world.
Laurel was supposed to be a diversion, a beard to hide behind while he and his lover, drummer Grant MacMullen, continued their hot and heavy relationship. Grant breaks his heart and admits there can never be a future between them.
It is Laurel who picks up the pieces and although he knows what they have together is wrong and conforming to society’s standards of what love supposed to be, how can he rectify his strong attraction and desire for men while he is falling in love with a woman?
Both Laurel and Will learn the fluidity of human emotions and together, they gather the strength and courage to live life, understand each other and love with heart, body, mind and soul.
Note: This story is about a homosexual man who happens to fall in love with a heterosexual woman but it does not negate his homosexual status nor is the author implying sexuality is a choice; rather that most of the time, we don’t and cannot choose the person we fall in love with and decide to give our heart and soul.

REVIEW: ~by April

This is another Scarlet Fever Series book. This is number Two in the series. This book is following Will and Laurel (and a mix of Grant and Sasha). This was a different type of complicated relationship. Selene made it easy to understand and kept with the down to earth appeal I have come to expect from her.
Will Cullen is the Bass player for Scarlet Fever. He is sexy yet has been trying to keep his love affair with Grant and his sexual identity under wraps. Then here is Laurel and they form one helluva friendship that turns into so much more.
Laurel (who has slept with Grant) was a party girl who became the photographer for the label that Scarlet Fever and Winters Regret work with. Since she is their photographer of course she gets to tour with them. Her friendship with Will turns into more and it turns out they are just what each other need. Even if it takes them some time to realize that.
When Grant calls off the arrangement with Will, because he wants to ask Sasha (Laurels sister) to marry him and wants to stay faithful, Will is pretty upset. Of course Laurel is there for him but his affair with Grant allowed him to get his other sexual needs. Laurel and Will have their chaos and they manage to realize and make it work. Who would have thought it would have gone this way!
You have no choice with who you are going to love. It seems that love makes that choice for you. It was awesome to watch/read the emotions this love is creating. I like how this book has a piece of everyone involved in it.
I am giving this book a strong 4 stars. Thank you and I will be watching for the next in this series.

Will walked outside and knelt before me. “Fuck. What the hell did I do now?” “Nothing,” I said before I turned to look at the pool and swallowed, the harsh bitterness of the Xanax pill still left in my mouth. “I realize everything that has happened between us is on me. Grant always came first and I was a distant second but now that he’s gone, I truly wonder if there is any room past that empty spot he’s left inside of you for me? We don’t choose who we fall in love with and God knows if I could take my feelings back for you, I would.” I paused and stared into those vast pools of blue. “But I can’t and I won’t. Now, the onus is on you. Do you or don’t you want to be with me? If you can’t, I truly understand because it just isn’t the way you’re hardwired. We were never supposed to be in the first place. However, if you do want me, then it has to be just you and I. No one else and certainly no one night stands or interlopers. I have to know I can trust you or we won’t work out. Do you understand that?” He nodded, his silky blond hair blowing in the soft breeze. “Of course I want to be with you or I wouldn’t have said no to coming out and I sure as hell wouldn’t have invited you to Vegas. If this works out and we sign this contract, this affects your life just as much as it does mine. I can understand if what we have isn’t important enough for you to uproot your life and change everything just to be with me.” “Oh, but it is…and my question to you is can you make that sacrifice because no matter how you look at our situation, you are doing something that is against your very nature. You’re denying a part of yourself to be with me and I can’t help but feel like I am the most selfish bitch in the world for making you do that.” “Listen to me,” Will said as he grabbed my jaw with both hands and held my face softly. “I’m not doing anything I don’t want to do. If you’ll have me then I’m yours. It’s as simple as that.” I nodded and we kissed each other on the lips before I embraced him. I couldn’t understand why I was holding on so tight and then it hit me like a wrecking ball. I was scared if I didn’t hold him like he was the only man in the world, he might disappear and leave me all alone with my emotions and the thought was too much to bear.

“I thought I knew what I wanted but someone forgot to tell me that you have to embrace the ugly in a relationship in order to appreciate the beauty of what you have created between another person and yourself. The following is what happens when you think you can take a short cut but in life, as in love, easy doesn’t come without difficulty, and if you want love to survive, you have to fight for it each and every day.” – Sydney Lundvik

Syd and Kaz survived getting together in the most unusual of ways, a rigorous world tour and his crazy ex-wife but their relationship will be tested more than they ever thought was possible. Now that Sydney is expecting their first child and they are engaged, demons from Kaz’s past rear their ugly head and cause a catalyst that will spin their world completely out of control.

Kaz reacts in the only way he knows how and that is to shut down his emotions while contemplating a deal for Scarlet Fever that could set them up for life and finally give them the stability they need.

Meanwhile, Syd reacts to the situation in a way that is completely unbecoming and may spell the end of their relationship and the happy ending she has craved for so long.

Can two people—who have gone through the fires of lust and love—reconnect with what brought them together in the first place and make peace not only with themselves and each other or will the pressure prove too great and tear them apart for good?
This is the explosive conclusion to one of the most exciting and twisted love affairs in rock history.

REVIEW: ~by April
This is a stand alone in a new series “Scarlet Fever”. This is the story of Kasper ‘Kaz’ and Sydney (Landvik) Gillian. There are a lot of ups and downs in this book. I liked how the chaos that takes place is so ‘yes that could happen,’ and down to earth. Parts of this story make you mad, sad, happy and ask Are you serious!!
The love Syd has for Kaz keeps growing deeper and bigger. (She is after all pregnant) Things she went through and the chaos at times made me extra nervous because of the pregnancy. There are ties you just want to stop her and probably slap some sense into her. The phrase ‘Are you freaking kidding me’ went through my head a lot during this read.
Kaz definitely has a very strong personality. Of course he would as the lead in a band but even more so behind the public eye. You find out some very surprising background on him. At times he acted like a little kid and it makes you want to scold him. Other times he will surprise the hell out of you.
I loved the HEA again and was happy with the ending of this book. I loved the “You’re my best friend” and the kiss for the Happy New Year. What a way to start a wonderful New Year. I am giving this book 4 stars. It kept me interested and I liked the story. Now I move on to the next one for this series. Thank you for letting me enjoy this book. Keep up the good work.
