When a tragic
accident takes Mike away from Layton, and the only other person that he ever
let into his heart walked away from him, leaving his heart shattered, Layton
focuses all of his time and energy into the ranch he and his brother dreamed
of. He makes a vow to himself to never let love in again. The last thing Layton
needed or wanted was more heartache.
Whitley Reynolds
grew up in a privileged home in upstate New York. When she landed the star
football player in high school no one was surprised, not even Whitley. She
dreamed of a life with Roger living in New York City and happily followed him

I love Kelly Elliott. She is an amazing writer and a wonderful woman. Wanted, Saved, and Faithful are some of my favorite books. I was so excited to read Broken.
Layton Morris is a sexy, kind, caring, southern gentleman. He saw a lady in distress, and came to her rescue. Little did he know she would not appreciate that! He falls hard for the beautiful stranger, however, he has had some misfortunes in his life which have left him a broken man.
Whitley Reynolds is a beautiful, Northern woman, who just relocated to TX. She left NY because her ex-fiancé was a controlling, abusive bastard. The day before she decided to leave NY, he beat her almost to death, and she ended up in the hospital. Once she was cleared to leave the hospital, her best friend, Courtney Will, helped her pack up her things, and they both moved to TX to start a new life. To say life and love have broken her, goes unsaid!
Luckily, they both found love! Whitley with Layton almost instantly, and Courtney with Layton's BFF Reed Moore. However, Courtney and Reed have done nothing but fight the attraction, and each other from the get go! They both find themselves with other people, Courtney with Mitch, Layton's ranch foreman, and Reed with Anna, the local jewelry store proprietor. I am looking forward to the next book, with Courtney and Reed.
I really enjoyed the charters and the way they interacted with each other. You can't help but fall for Layton and Reed! This book was incredibly sweet, although I wished this book held a bit more angst, to sate my desire for true romance! Even though I enjoyed the main characters of Broken, I can't help but be intrigued in the secondary characters, and how their story plays out in Broken Dreams. I rate this book 4 stars! Really I'm just a wife to a wonderful
Texas cowboy who has a nack for making me laugh almost daily and supports my
crazy ideas and dreams for some unknown reason...he claims it's because he

I live in the Texas hill country and one of my favorite things to do is go for hikes around our property with my second favorite man, Gus....my chocolate lab and my sweet girl Rose, our golden retriever. When I'm not outside helping the hubby haul brush or move rocks or whatever fun chore he has in store for me that day, you will find me inside reading, writing or watching HGTV and soaking in a nice hot bubble bath.....yeah that last one I just made up but it sure does sound nice!!!
